Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind
written by Charlie Kaufman, story by Charlie Kaufman, Michel Gondry, and Pierre Bismuth

Dr. Mierzwiak: So, please tell me your name, and who you are here to erase.
Joel:My name is Joel Barish, and I'm here to erase Clementine Kruczynski.
Dr. Mierzwiak: Very good, now, tell me about Clementine.
Joel: Like what?
Dr. Mierzwiak: Oh, well, uh, everything. We'll need everything. You just start talking and I'll direct the conversation if need be.
Joel: Okay. Well, uh, I was living with this woman, Naomi, a couple years ago, and my friends, Robin and Carey, invited us to this party at the beach. Naomi couldn't go because she was working on a paper for school. So I went. I didn't really want to, either. I don't like parties, you know? I didn't even want to go. So, I ended up going, and I met Clementine. She was there, with her orange sweatshirt, and her hair....She was really special. I mean, the whole thing with the hair, it's all bullshit, you know? "You can't criticize me, 'cause I don't care how I look". It's crap. And it's sort of pathetic when you're 30 and you're still doing that shit…
(The conversation is interrupted by a loud noise caused by Lacuna employee Patrick (Elijah Wood), who has dropped a stack of files.)
Patrick: Sorry.
Joel: So, um, I really…liked her...for some reason. Down by the ocean there…I fell in love easily.

Kudos and much thanks go to Mike for this monologue, it is very much appreciated.
